Tell Me What You Think

Hi All,

In my last blog post, Lost in the USA, I let you, my readers, know that a change was coming to this blog. A change of content and with that change I also thought it time for a new look to my blog.

So what do you think? Do you like the new look? If so why.

Do you hate the new look? If so why.

Please post your comments as I am dying to know. Be forewarned that while I want to know what you think I am also free to ignore anything you may say. So if I don’t act on your advice please know it’s not that I did not value your input.

I would also very much like to throw out some ideas I have on future article topics and get your feed back on which, if any, you would like to hear about.

I will be writing on topics that fall under the umbrella of, ‘Bringing harmony to Man, Animal, and the Planet’.

Here are some topics I am thinking about,

  • Should Insurance Companies Practice Medicine or Doctors?
  • Acupuncture, When ‘Sticking it to you’ Really Works
  • Reiki, You and Your Pets Best Friend
  • Laugh Yourself Healthy
  • Singing In The Shower – Is it Good for You?
  • Medical Marijuana, What’s From the Earth is of the Greatest Worth.

So what have the above articles have to do with, ‘bringing harmony to Man, Animal, and the Planet’ you may ask?

I have a dream, a passion, a life’s purpose to be a be a friend and explorer of healing wisdom. And this purpose is manifesting itself into The Center for Healing Wisdom.

The Center will explore and disseminate the best in Healing Wisdom from traditional and non-traditional medical and healing techniques.
The Center will explore and use the best techniques to live in harmony with the most powerful healing source, Mother Earth.

My Wisdom Quest will chronicle my journey of exploration and learning on the road to opening The Center.

I look forward to sharing what I learn with you.

I also want this site to promote conversation. Please post comments and start discussions. All constructive comments are welcome, no matter if we agree on a topic or not. I will not however tolerate any hateful posts. Or any attacks directed at any poster or myself. Such posts will be deleted.

Peace,
-Ron-

Honestly Ron – I love the content ideas and will find them all really interesting to follow – but your color scheme on your blog? I just find it really ‘dull’ – not like you and your content. I think your content ideas are uplifting so maybe a more uplifting color scheme? I like the clouds but….. Just my opinion says she who has a very grey blog – but I like to think mine is more punky like me :) . Feel free to ignore me :)

Congrats on your updated site, Ron, I love the concept and your ideas for direction and stories. “Bringing harmony to man, animals and the planet” is a Fab tagline that encompasses so many intriguing story ideas! I really like the borders on your sidebar — very cool looking.
I do, however, need to echo Louise a bit about color scheme. It looks very clean and professional, and I wouldn’t say it’s “dull”, but you’re a pretty upbeat guy and your topics of the planet, harmony and animals evoke (at least for me) a bright palate of colors.
I can’t wait to see where you go with this new direction…. Atticus and I will be following!

Just an add on – I first looked at the website on my little netbook and am now on my big screen and it’s not quite as grey as it looked on my netbook but you never know what people are reading on….. Perhaps dull was a bit harsh but I still don’t think it reflects you!

I like the ideas , but am with the gals on colors.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I have added a splash of color Louise. :-)

And I am thinking of maybe a bit more but one of the things that worked for me with this WordPress theme was that it is very readable.

I have been on many a blog site that were quite colorful and expressive in that way but when in came to actually reading the blog I find to much color distracting and will usually not read such a blog.

With a splash of color from fonts in certain area and of course pics and such in each article I think I can show that Ron is anything but dull without distracting from the readability of the site.

Having another look – I do see what you mean about the readability of the background. Maybe the yellow text in the boxes on the right could be a stronger color. The blue in the little picture REALLY pops so I like Julia’s idea of using blue.a bit more……

      • http://mywisdomquest.com Ron Britton

I used the same gold(yellow) as in my logo.

I have now changed fonts so it is a bit more pronounced. Also changed the side-bar header background to the blue from the logo.

And the big change new logo with tag line. I really like it!

        Thanks for the feedback.

I like the water color paper background. It has a clean and calm feel to it and it is easy to read. You may want to pull in some of the blue of your logo into parts of the site.

I love your topics. I can’t wait to read your post Should Insurance Companies Practice Medicine or Doctors.

      Thank you Julia,

I too am looking forward finishing my article on Should Insurance Companies Practice Medicine. Going to be fun to keep it from being a rant and trying to calmly and rationally explain why I think the current system is not working.

    Hey Ron-

I actually found your colors very calming. I love the textured background. But I can also see the comments on wanting more color although that didn’t hit me on first view.

I really like your very energic project of your Center. Will it be brick and mortar or virtual. But I love a place for such exchange of ideas. You just completed a physical journey, now you are on a mental one! Bravo.

Thank you Candace,Right now The Center for Healing Wisdom is virtual. It is me and I am it. I currently practice animal reiki, I use the Native American flute for sound healing, and read the Shamanka Oracle deck of divination cards. And I am learning more and more all the time.I will be working on promoting one day and weekend seminars of my own material and also hosting other talented healers. I am looking for land to build the brick and mortar incarnation of The Center. Know of anyone with a nice piece of land looking to support an amazing cause, please let me know.

This is a great way to introduce a new site. Your topics sound appealing, and I agree that your tag line is wonderful. I don’t mind the colors (although I understand some of the comments), but mostly I’d like to see darker print in the blog text and also, if possible, the comments. I felt I had to strain to read, which of course is never a good thing.

Hi, Thanks for the comment.I have made a change to the font. I think it is now more readable. Also liked some of the ideas on a bit more color so did some updates there too. I like the changes, hope other will as well.

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for inviting comments on this new blog format. I think it’s always a challenge to get it right in terms of looking attractive but not distracting, plus everyone’s taste is always so different not everyone will like it anyway, so long as you like it, it’s cool. I’m just doing a major overhaul on mine, so I know the choices are endless :) Like Louise, I also looked at it yesterday on mobile and wasn’t blown away, today it looks better on the big screen :) I’m curious to see your laugh yourself healthy post, I’m a big believer in mental state affecting your physical state, but I don’t have any medical proof for this, it’s just my feeling, plus it’s a good reason to have as much fun and laugh as much as possible, well why not? :)

I think it’s such a great idea to ask for feedback in the way you are doing, and after reading what others have said and how you have responded, it is all good! I, too, like your theme and your passion for healing, your heart for others, your longing for harmony between man and animals and our environment — a desire to recapture what God intended when He first created us! I will be interested to follow your blogs and learn what you will share!
